DAY 2

Today was a long day. At 9:30AM, still feeling the jet lag I met with the group to be escorted to school for the first time. Roughly 150 students following one man from point A to point B, including through a train transfer at a crowded tube station didn't exactly go well.. I don't know what this guy was thinking but we got seperated... of course... With a little quick action, and trial and error we found the group and arrived at AIU. The campus is 4 buildings spread across a 3 block stretch of Marlybone, London. After several speakers, picking up IDs, a campus tour and lots of trivial paperwork  the school provided lunch (Yay! Free!).  After lunch there was a meeting for the students with internships (that's me!). I got excited all over again for my upcoming interview with "Dream Company X".

After everything was done at school, Cassidy and I walked to Oxford Street, the equivalent of 5th Avenue in New York or Michigan Avenue in Chicago. A little to worn out to do some full-on shopping, we went straight to one of the places I've been most entriqued about... PRIMARK. This place is a Forever 21/ H&M/ Top Shop on steroids... the crowds were so unreal!! I wasn't really able to look at everything for fear of losing Cassidy and never finding her again, but OF COURSE I did find one or two little gems. Obviously, I'll be going back :)

After a taste of London shopping, my stomach was grumbling uncontrollably. Cassidy suggestest a restaurant she frequented during her previous trip to London called Pizza Express. Of course, I ordered "The American" with pepperoni and mozzerella. It was delicious!

After dinner was the trek home and the hunt for a wall adapter for Cassidy. After about an hour of searching, we made it back to the flat. While my ambitious flat mates planned their night of clubs, I took the opportunity to finish unpacking and putting my room together. It still needs a little charm but at least everything is put away.

Tomorrow I'm planning on going to the Portobello Market. From what I understand it's a mile long outdoor market with antiques, vintage clothes, art, jewelry, food... everything! The markets are one of the things I'm really excited to explore. Hopefully I'll come home with some treasures!

Here are a few pictures from today!

This is one of the buildings of the campus, where my classes will be.

A look down Thayer Street, loved these buildings

A long line of cute restaurants on the way to Oxford Street

Oxford Street = Crowds
Check out those red double deckers!

Just a hint of the Primark madness

These lines were insanely long at all of the multiple check-outs

My "American" pizza from Pizza Express

Look what I stumbled upon a few blocks from school!
